Workshops
What does it mean to be English? (Beginning in November 2026)
In response to increasing racialised violence in England I’ve designed a 4 part seasonal workshop for anyone feeling lost, unwelcome and sad about englishness in 2026. This will be a coming together to reimagine new traditions, celebrations, flags and foods.
Beginning in winter, we’ll start by:
co-creating the curriculum we would have wanted to meaningfully confront our historical harm and the everyday stories of English people. Not just the Tudors!
We’ll imagine and design a new kind of history lesson and new kind of school.
In spring we’ll:
dedicate the energy of the new year to embracing generative conflict
resourcing and empowering ourselves to have difficult conversations with family about identity and tradition
Interrogating how White supremacy manifests in our careers, relationships and bodies through somatic exercises
Summer will bring:
An exploration about what we love or hope to one day love about this country
noticing beauty and reimagining our relationship to the land through the foraging of local clay
Autumn will close with:
Building new stories, cities and myths with the clay we foraged in summer
Designing new traditions to share with anyone who doesn’t feel welcome here
Creating a new flag to plant somewhere that is safe for all people <3
This workshop will be hosted on the outskirts of Bristol and will be a cohort of maximum 10 people.
Proactive repatriation, what comes next? (Beginning in October 2026)
What lives in the place of an artefact, story or life that has been repatriated?
This workshop, designed for museum leaders, will explore co-designing with communities what comes next. We’ll be using local clay, foraged from the land near your museum to collaboratively sculpt the next iteration of the story. During the local foraging and co-making time we’ll discuss extraction, voice, repairing historic harms and reimagining the absence of a item which has been stolen.
Using the technique of ‘claystorming’ designed by Anna Heringer, we’ll intuitively design your museum practices of the future built from your local mud.
The outcomes of this workshop will be designed in collaboration with the community and the space but could look like:
A co-produced proactive repatriation practice recorded in both art making and the written word
A sculpture that physically replaces what has been repatriated
a series of ceramic installations that act as provocations on extraction, voice, ownership and preservation. These could be exhibited together, installed around the museum to interrupt existing exhibits and/or in the office space to impact ways of working.
This workshop is delivered in 4 - 8 parts depending on the desired outcomes and context.
Talking
Facilitation
You could say I’ve been facilitating since I became a girl guide and immediately offered to run the Brownies when I turned 12.
Starting in a mental health charity and ending at a creative agency, I’ve been paid to facilitate access led and trauma informed spaces for the last 8 years. That has spanned youth work, conflict resolution, board meetings, board games, fundraising away days, book clubs, dance, poetry, navigating grief and many other themes that are part of being a human.
I can hold small and gentle spaces for those looking to recover and 4 day conferences for institutions looking to be held accountable.
I have been invited to speak nationally about best practice when it comes to holding space and co-creating with marginalised and vulnerable groups.
Hosting Panels
In the last year I’ve hosted panels on gender, ethical branding, navigating neurodiversity as a freelancer, and how to lead your research with care.
I enjoy the delicate art of making sure quieter voices are heard and teasing out the topics that make panellist’s hearts sing.
Speaking at events
When I’m not hosting panels sometimes I’m speaking at them! I have recently been invited to speak on:
community co-production
diversifying governance
engaging marginalised communities in your institutions’ strategy
I’d like to talk more about:
Letting go of the career, relationships, house, body and life you thought you were going to have (and feeling excited about it!)
neurodiversity, chronic health conditions, mental health and access in the workplace
White supremacy in the workplace
